"Howdy" to Rich McG

Saw one of our Forum members, Rich McG, up on San Gorgonio Mountain over Memorial Day. Howdy, Rich.

Rich's pack is one I hadn't seen before, a Mariposa Plus from Gossamer Gear. I hadn't seen a Mariposa Plus before. Looks like a good pack. I have a Mariposa (just a regular Mariposa) which I like quite a bit.

Someone looks like they were really cold or an active practitioner of ninjutsu.

We passed several groups that morning that had spent the night on the summit. Every one of them said it was really cold and that the wind made it bitingly cold.

By the time we got there at about 9:30 AM, it was quite pleasant.

It was below freezing on the peak, but we had to do it to get the Nine Peaks Patch. Noticed a post later about Adventure 16's 3 peak Challenge (Baldy, San Jac, and San Greg), but the guy at A16 said you have to have a picture on each peak with the flag they give you! We might have to go back!

Rich McG: I like the pack! Anyhow, do you hike with that water bottle in front of you like that? No bounce? I can only imagine discomfort to the pillar and stones... just sayin'

Oh, dear, it looks like Ellen is trying to give me a hard time yet again. I shall reply with nothing but stone faced silence of course. Yes, even though Ellen truly rocks my world, I shall not deign to pun upon command. Many have speculated that I actually enjoy puns, but were we in the Court of Truth, the righteous judge would pound his gravel down and not tolerate any such suggestion. I'm not sure how to handle this; Ellen's requests grow boulder by the day. This is really starting to aggregate on my nerves. I simply won't sand for it any more. I guess I'll just have to stonewall her and hope for the best.
