Yeah.

Really, Steelcup, you shouldn't hand me a straight line like that. ;)

Yeah, I don't think most people set out to burn down the forest. They just do something stupid, like having a log half hanging out of the fire and then leaving the fire smoldering. Eventually, the fire burns down the log -- and out of the fire circle. It goes rapidly down hill from there. Well, actually fires usually burn uphill, but you know what I mean. :(

It never ceases to amaze me that people build fires where there's no water around. I guess if you hike with a shovel, that's all right, but most of us don't carry anything more than a potty trowel. Absent a shovel, just how were you proposing to get the fire out? Oh, you'll just let it burn itself out? And that's how fires start.

First time poster as well... Planning an overnight in a couple of weeks and hadn't thought about parking... For an overnight is parking at trailhead fine? Anything to be aware of? Thanks in advance!

Whenever I've parked at Deer Springs or any of the west side trail heads, I've never had a problem.

Excellent! Didn't know if an Adventure Pass or anything might be needed. Thanks for the quick reply.

The Adventure Pass is only for "developed" sites.
