You never know what you're going to get 8)

Warm and humid up to 4 K, cloud cover started at 5 K, rain shortly thereafter turning into hail at Flat Rock (6 K).

Higher and higher.

By the traverse, we were in several inches of new snow. We followed David H Stewart's boot tracks all the way up to Grubbs Notch, where he was waiting for us.

Entertained the tourists as we walked up the cement switchbacks.

Sadly, from here on out, HEAT will be the challenge on Skyline.

Miles of smiles,

All gone by Saturday, despite the cool weather. I carried my microspikes, thinking the snow might freeze rather than melt. If there is a way to predict snow conditions, it's a seminar I missed.
